SCATO SERIES
Shadows are the inexhaustible source of inspiration of my work. On the street and in nature I draw and photograph shadows, trying to catch them at the right moment. I then model the movement and rhythm of the shadow in clay, transforming it into matter. I call my shadow objects scato, a Medieval word for shadow. The decoration and the color applied to the work gives my scatos their peculiar character, from frivolous to frank. The petrified shadows perform a shadow-play again.
